Willow Tree
The willow of the genus Salix, mostly native to northern temperate areas valued for their ornament, shade and erosion control.

The willow is one of our more interesting woods for use in the outdoor fire pit or chiminea.

Willow smoke is reported to produce a number of mental symptoms that reflect the method of reproduction of the tree. The branch cracks and splits off, then drifts down the stream, finally finding a home and embedding itself in the river bank further downstream and growing into another tree, which, as the branches become heavy, will be liable to crack or split in its turn.
